Like to hold sightlines and kill enemies in a single instance? Snipers are your go too. But it's more about the type of weapon that fits more to your playstyle. There will be some slight differences, like mag size, visual recoil, damage drop off, etc. We're glossing over the meta analysis of dominant strategy here but essentially, something like an M16 or AK74 are just seperate versions of an AR playstyle, where your medium range. When you decide to use a weapon in CoD, you often think of a play style. Something like FPSs like CoD think in this way. The first two games were not designed with this mindset. The ones I do have problems with are ranking weapons from bad to best when they clearly mean "guns I liked the best because that's how I play". So we all have preferences and I'm not discrediting those opinions. The only bad weapon, statistically, is the Rivet Gun, and it just needed a damage buff to make it more in line with the rest of the sandbox. TL:DR Instead of saying a weapon is bad, say i prefer this weapon due to my playstyle, so it's less likely to be in my "toolbox".
